Other Ways to Help
Donations of Mattresses
WEAVE is unable to accept donations of used mattresses for health and safety reasons.
If you are looking to donate a used mattress, there are several options.
1. Retailer Take Back – If you are having a new mattress delivered, California law requires the retailer to offer to take your old mattress at no additional costs. Delivery or set up fees for products being delivered may still apply, the retailer has 30 days to take back the old mattress, and a retailer may refuse to pick up an old mattress if it poses as health or safety risk.
Donate Your Car
WEAVE has partnered with Donate Local and Helping Hands Charity Services, two organizations that help non-profits by delivering the proceeds from donated cars directly to the non-profits they work with. You can help WEAVE by donating your car today! Both organizations assist donors from beginning to end in the donation process. You can expect a minimum tax deduction of $500, but if your vehicle sells for more than that amount, you can claim the total sale price.
Host an Event
Hosting a fundraising event can be a creative and interactive way to partner with WEAVE as well as members of the community to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault. There are a variety of events that you can plan and host, and we are excited to support you through your efforts!
