Sex Trafficking Information
Cases of trafficking have been found all across the world. In addition, cases have been reported in all fifty states of the United States.
Victims of sex trafficking can be women or men, girls or boys, but the majority, at more than 80% of the victims, are women and girls.
There are a number of common patterns for luring victims into situations of sex trafficking.
Victims of trafficking face many challenges in seeking services due to their unique situations.
With funding from a Sacramento Region Community Foundation’s Immediate Need Grant, WEAVE has been partnering with the Watt Avenue Partnership to develop a highly localized response to addressing sex trafficking in the area. A key outcome of this project will be a Community Action Kit designed for business owners and local residents seeking to combat trafficking as well as specialized resources for victims of trafficking seeking help.
