WEAVE’s Commitment to a Healthy Workplace

Post

I remain steadfast in my commitment to lead WEAVE with humility and transparency while creating a workplace that is healthy and always improving. I am proud of the 150+ employees who hold space for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking every day. Together, we have built a vibrant organization that encourages staff to feel safe showing up as their authentic selves.

We intentionally engage in brave conversations about race, equity, and what it means to create safe spaces for survivors and employees. We listen to those with lived experiences and center their voices. We enlist external partners and consultants, where appropriate, to add expertise and different perspectives to our team. We work together to integrate equity and inclusion into every aspect of our services and operations. And this work continues.

This year, we are building upon our existing iWEAVE initiatives which advance our inclusion, diversity, equity, and access work. In addition, we are expanding our commitment to employee wellness, prioritizing tiered leadership development, mentoring, and coaching, and creating more meaningful opportunities for staff to provide input and take part in shaping the agency. As an organization, WEAVE continues to evolve thanks to the talents and dedication of our people.

We recognize that the steps we have taken and planned are only the beginning. We are committed to progress. We remain open to feedback regarding how we can do better.

As WEAVE’s leader, I am always available to anyone who has questions about our work or our workplace. If you have any questions, please contact me at bhassett@weaveinc.org or 916-319-4923.
