Safer Internet Day

Post

Safer Internet Day is a global awareness campaign celebrated in more than 100 countries, bringing communities together to promote a safer, more respectful online world. The annual initiative encourages everyone—young people, parents and caregivers, educators, advocates, and decision-makers—to use technology responsibly, critically, and with care.

At WEAVE, we recognize that online spaces can both connect and harm. Digital abuse, stalking, harassment, and exploitation are real experiences for many survivors, making online safety an essential part of prevention and support. Safer Internet Day reminds us of the importance of setting boundaries, recognizing red flags, and fostering online environments rooted in respect and accountability.

This year’s theme, “Together for a better internet,” calls on all of us to play a role in creating safer digital communities. By staying informed, speaking up, and supporting one another, we can help ensure the internet is a place of connection, empowerment, and safety for all.
