Grant Boosts Housing for Survivors
Kaiser Permanente continued its decades long commitment to survivors of domestic violence with a $25,000 grant to fund WEAVE’s Housing and Residential Services programs. The funding supports WEAVE’s Emergency Safehouse Program and comprehensive supportive services such as Strengths Model Case Management, legal assistance, therapeutic counseling, financial literacy education, housing navigation, and employment readiness. With the support of Kaiser Permanente, WEAVE can support survivors in reducing barriers to safety, self-sufficiency, and obtaining safe housing.
“Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to domestic violence intervention and prevention is well established. Kaiser Permanente remains a leader in addressing the root causes of domestic violence and developing effective strategies used by their medical professionals and community organizations like WEAVE. It is an honor to continue our partnership.” Beth Hassett, CEO of WEAVE.
“Providing support for WEAVE is part of our mission to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve,” said Rachel Dong, MD, Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Ob-Gyn Chief. “Our physicians and staff screen for domestic violence in our clinics. But outside of the care delivery setting, it’s our strong partnerships with community resources that ensure victims and survivors are healthy and safe.”
This gift builds on a 30-year history of support and collaboration between Kaiser Permanente and WEAVE, with total giving exceeding $1.2 million. Together, we are committed to ensuring survivors of domestic violence have access to trauma-informed and survivor-centered services.
