How can YOU help survivors at WEAVE?
Ways to Support Youth Programs & Survivors

Post

Do you have a senior project coming up? Do you need community service hours? Do you want to find a way to help your community? Are you in a club that needs a project to work on?

WEAVE’s mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships and support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. Domestic and sexual violence affects so many in our community. If you haven’t experienced it personally, you may know of someone who has—a friend, a family member, a neighbor. Have you ever thought to yourself-what can I do to help?

There are so many ways to help raise funds for and awareness of WEAVE. With the support of your community, you can act to end violence in your school and in your neighborhood. Here are some ideas of how you can support survivors (and complete your community service hours or school projects).

A movie night! Gather your community together, create ticket stubs and posters, sell snacks, and raise funds for WEAVE

A bake sale! Are you and your friends amateur bakers? Use your skills to sell items and donate the proceeds to WEAVE

A recycling drive! Ask your family, friends, and neighbors to give you their bottles and cans. Once collected you can take them to your local recycling plant and donate the cash you receive to WEAVE

Interested in donating items to WEAVE? Great idea! Contact the Philanthropy team to ask what needed items survivors could benefit from at the moment. We are always in need of hair care products for people of color, self care items, and much more.

Are you in a club on campus that wants to raise awareness of certain months (for example, February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month), while also raising funds for WEAVE? We want to work with you! Contact the Philanthropy team to see how your club can participate in supporting survivors.

Do you have an idea not listed here that you want to share? Send us an email and we’d be happy to hear it.

The Philanthropy team here at WEAVE is excited to work with you to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking!
