Clinical Supervisor
Non-Exempt, 32 hours
Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Counseling and Outreach, the Clinical Supervisor will provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision to counseling staff, trainees/interns and counseling chart review. Maintain clear, written expectations for the clinical supervision relationship with each supervisee.
Responsibilities:
- Provide two sessions of group clinical supervision each week
- Provide individual supervision to counseling staff , trainees/interns weekly
- Review all counselor documentation- progress notes, treatment plans, etc. in a timely manner
- Assist in the clinical training and orientation of new staff and students
- Provide counseling to clients as needed: triage, walk-ins, on-going counseling sessions for SA, DV, ST clients
- Help supervisees identify areas of clinical expertise and areas for improvement, and provide guidance and support in their professional development
- Monitor direct service performance of Board of Behavioral Science Examiners supervisees on a regular basis, either through direct observation or recordings of sessions, and provide timely evaluation feedback
- Regularly review supervisee’s documentation for adherence to professional and agency standards, maintain appropriate documentation and records for BBSE purposes
- Review all correspondence regarding BBSE supervisee’s clients to ensure adherence to professional and agency standards
- Collaborate with universities/colleges regarding supervision of student trainees/interns; maintain appropriate records; develop learning plans and agreements with students; meet with field instructors
- Provide training on relevant clinical topics for counseling department and peer counselor trainings
- Consult as needed with agency staff on clinical concerns
- Provide guidance in the development of counseling curricula and other written materials relevant to the provision of agency counseling
- Collaborate with Counseling Services Managerand Director of Counseling and Outreach to develop consistent clinical policies and procedures
- Attend Counselor meetings and All-Staff meetings when appropriate
- Maintain accurate timesheets and other work-related documents
- Represent the agency in community speaking engagements and networking opportunities, as assigned
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in good standing, qualified to supervise counseling staff, MFT and MSW students, interns and trainees, and to sign off on licensure hours
- Demonstrated experience counseling adults, youth and children from diverse backgrounds
- Experience counseling trauma survivors required, preferably in the area of sexual assault and domestic violence
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical supervisory capacity preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess a clinical perspective consistent with WEAVE’s philosophy
- Valid California Driver’s license and reliable transportation, including vehicle insurance
- Must possess current licensure and liability insurance and keep current as a condition of employment
- Attend WEAVE Peer Counselor Training
