Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Housing & Client Prosperity, the Housing Manager is responsible for the oversight and successful implementation of WEAVE’s housing programs, including Transitional Housing on the WEAVE and Mather Campuses, and WEAVE’s Permanent Supportive Housing. The Housing Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the process for clients to secure and maintain housing within the program and managing the daily program operations.

 

The Housing Services Manager oversees the program and assists WEAVE’s Housing Advocates with providing client-centered, trauma-informed, Strengths Model case management and advocacy for clients. The Housing Services Manager is also responsible for the operation of WEAVE’s Client Apprentice and Aftercare programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily operations of the housing programs, including the client apprentice and aftercare programs.
  • Provides back-up to the Director of Housing & Client Prosperity.
  • Provides support, oversight, and direction to Housing Advocates and volunteers.
  • Facilitates weekly individual and group supervision with staff.
  • Facilitates team meetings and provides timely and effective communication to staff.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team and case conferencing meetings.
  • Serves as primary responder to client and/or staff crisis situations in a safe and effective way.
  • Conducts regular check-ins with Housing clients to offer support and ensure the program is still beneficial to their success.
  • Available for Residential Services Consultation and ensuring 24/7 shelter staffing, including weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Oversees and assists with the administrative responsibilities of the Permanent Supportive Housing program, such as lease agreements, collection of rents, reporting facility or maintenance needs, and communicating with WEAVE Leadership regarding rental agreement non-compliance or concerns.
  • Attends internal and external meetings as required and/or on behalf of Director of Housing & Client Prosperity.
  • Provides training for staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Assist with data collection and grant reporting as assigned.
  • Assists with updating and developing policies, procedures, and safety guidelines as assigned.
  • Assesses quality assurance and quality improvement of programs.
  • Creates and fosters teamwork within the housing programs and across the agency.
  • Provides support for daily functions of the Housing Advocates, including but not limited to:
  • Screens prospective residents, conducts and/or reviews intakes and exit interviews
  • Provides peer counseling and advocacy for clients
  • Provides case management and accompaniments to residents
  • Provides emergency transportation
  • Provides crisis intervention, advocacy, information, and referrals
  • Facilitates house meetings, supports groups, and workshops
  • Maintains accurate client records and statistics in a timely manner

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Attends and participates in agency meetings, staff meetings, and in-service trainings.
  • Completes WEAVE’s classroom training (69 hours) and maintains certification.
  • Develops positive working relationships with community partners and other local organizations and agencies.
  • Maintains accurate and timely timesheets.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, child abuse laws and reporting responsibilities and files abuse reports as required.
  • Be familiar with legal, medical, housing, educational, and social service agencies and resources in the community which may be of use to residents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

ADA Job Characteristics:

Work environment is primarily in an emergency shelter/24-7 facility setting.  Local travel (driving) is required to transport clients and attend off-site meetings.  Lift and carry up to 25 pounds up to waist length, extend both arms above the head and/or reach below the waist, stoop, squat, crawl, bend the back to open lower-level filing drawers, or to retrieve stored items, climb on stools, steps and/or ladders to dust, sweep and/or mop to clean.  Sit and/or stand frequently.  Use fine manipulation (hands and wrist) to operate a keyboard, take notes, complete and file reports, file and copy documents.  Corrected vision to normal range.  Speak in normal vocal tone and range and communicate clearly and concisely to and with others.  Apply normal reasoning and detail as required in the accomplishment of job duties.

Qualifications:

  • Combination of formal education and experience related to the position description and ability to successfully fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Housing program administration experience preferred.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence preferred.
  • Crisis intervention, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with staff, interns, volunteers, and clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team leader.
  • Valid California driver license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
