Confidential Campus Advocate
FT Non-Exempt; benefit eligible
The Campus Confidential Advocate is responsible for providing confidential support, advocacy and resources to campus students and faculty experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence and/or sexual harassment; facilitate prevention education presentations/trainings on domestic and sexual violence for students, staff and faculty; provide outreach to college students and faculty regarding the Advocate’s role; coordinate campus awareness events; collaborate with and maintain effective working relationships with campus faculty and administration; work with campus Title IX office and campus police; attend related on-campus meetings and WEAVE all-staff meetings. This position reports to the P&E Manager and Chief Program Officer, Counseling & Outreach. The Advocate is also responsible for assisting with other P&E duties as needed: Volunteer Orientation, WEAVE 101, Peer Counselor Training, Tabling events, Community outreach/presentations, Continuing Education opportunities and various administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the Confidential Advocate with the identified campus, providing students/faculty with emotional support, reporting options, advocacy, accompaniment on-campus and resources
- Facilitate prevention education presentations and trainings on Domestic and Sexual Violence for students, faculty and the community
- Maintain effective working relationships with college and community
- Collect and record outreach data within required guidelines.
- Serve as point of contact and coordinate outreach events, presentations and tabling requests
- Assist P&E dept. with a variety of P&E duties, such as PCT, WEAVE 101, Volunteer Orientation, tabling events and community presentations
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings
- Attend and participate in all-staff and other agency meetings and committees as needed
- Maintain accurate timesheets and other work-related documents.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in social work or related field
- Prior public speaking experience
- Prior experience working with survivors of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence
- Successful completion of WEAVE Peer Counselor Training required
- Knowledge and demonstrated commitment to the WEAVE mission and values
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Office and Outlook
- Experienced with most office machines including telephone systems, calculator, computers, PowerPoint equipment, fax machines, and photocopiers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and high degree of professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Regular attendance
- Valid California Driver’s license, current auto insurance, reliable auto transportation, and satisfactory driving record
Hiring requirements include a criminal records background check clearance. Though not required, a TB test is strongly recommended.
