WEAVE offers in-person counseling, legal assistance, Safehouse, and we can give you more information about accessing the California Secretary of State's Safe at Home Program that could also increase your safety.

do you have a branch in orange county, california

Answer:

Is is normal for a husband to control all the house hold finances?

Answer: 
The responsibility of the household finances varies in different relationships. Both spouses may agree to share or divide the responsibility. If one spouse decides to control the finances without the other spouse's consent, it is financial abuse. At WEAVE, we consider financial abuse a form of domestic violence. I have a 4 yr. old daughter who lives with me. How do I stop her dad from just coming over and taking her whenever he wants.?

Answer: 
You have several options. You may file for a Temporary Restraining Order or for full custody of your daughter. WEAVE has a legal department that can assist you with filing for custody and for a Temporary Restraining Order if you live in Sacramento County. Please call WEAVE's Crisis Line at 916.920.2952 to access these services and for emotional support.

my sister is verbally and emotionally abused but can't seem to leave husband what is the best way for me to support her?

Answer: 
Let your sister know that emotional abuse is a form of domestic violence and it is just as harmful as physical abuse. It is important to be supportive of what she wants to do, but you can let her know that there is help that is available to her. Encourage her to call our 24-hour Crisis Line at 916.920.2952 to go over her options or simply just to talk. You are also welcome to call for further guidance and support.

I don't have the money to leave, but I don't think I need to go to a safe house.I think he's done thingsto me so I would.

My sister-in-law is a Ukrainian immigrant and her English is limited. Does anyone at Weave speak Russian?

Unfortunately, we do not have a Russian speaking counselor on staff at this time. We have a Russian interpreter on-call for the Crisis Line, please let your sister-in-law know she can contact the Crisis Line at (916) 920-2952 for support and information. Also, I recommend that you contact WEAVE on her behalf to get more information and referrals.

I think I'm a victim of non-contact molestation, does this count as actually being molested?

Answer: 
I encourage you to call the Crisis Line at (916) 920-2952 to discuss your situation in more detail. A counselor will be able to provide emotional support and give you resources and referrals.

Can you help someone that doesn't live in Sacramento County?

Answer: 
WEAVE has counseling services and advocacy programs available to both residents of Sacramento County, and those that live outside the County. However, WEAVE's Legal Department has limitations of assisting residents outside Sacramento County. Please call the Crisis Line at 916.920.2952 for more information about the services WEAVE provides and for additional referrals outside of Sacramento County if needed.

Does your company do pick-ups for donations? I have double of many items

Answer: 
We do not pick up donations. You can drop off items at either of our two thrift store locations.
