WEAVE's Children's Educator provides a 5 week program to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students in Sacramento County. The curriculum, also available in Spanish, is entitled Safe Families: Breaking the Cycle of Violence and focuses on helping children understand the problem of domestic violence and identify ways to stay safe. It also addresses healthy ways to express negative emotions.
In addition to educating children on domestic violence, the Children's Educator is also responsible for educating teachers, foster parents, etc. on the effects of domestic violence on children.
