About the Safehouse

Crisis Line

The new Safehouse will be constructed on land owned by WEAVE adjacent to the existing Safehouse. The 12,000 square foot facility triples the size of the existing Safehouse. It includes three residential wings featuring family suites for increased privacy. The new facility will be capable of housing 80 women and children – more than doubling our current capacity.

The new Safehouse also includes the “Caring for Myself and My Family Center”. The wing will feature client support services including space for group and individual counseling, legal advocacy, health, wellness and nutrition, workforce development, life skills training, and parenting education. The “Caring for Myself and My Family Center” provides comprehensive services to help eliminate the barriers cited by women. The existing B.T. Collins’ Children’s Center will continue to provide a safe place for children to receive counseling, learn nonviolent communication skills, and to just be kids.
