Description: This overnight position provides orientation, crisis intervention, advocacy, information and referrals to shelter residents who are victims of Domestic Violence, and/or Sexual assault.  Also handles crisis phone lines and assist callers with referrals.  Must be flexible to work some holidays, due to 24/7 shelter needs.  This position’s initial schedule: 2 days per week, Fridays and Saturday nights from10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. 

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have:

• BA/BS degree in a behavioral science or related field and 1 year related exp preferred or AA/AS in a behavioral science and 2 years exp., or min. high school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience.
• Experience working with culturally diverse clients, and
• Bilingual communication skills highly desired.
• Peer Counseling Training is required.
